A full day Symposium on the Benefits and Opportunities afforded by International Exchange and Partnerships
Saturday 15 October 2016, The Barony Centre, Craft Town Scotland, 50 Main Street, West Kilbride. KA23 9AR.
This event supports ‘Naked Craft’ a multi-facetted project and exhibition of contemporary craft by 22 makers from Canada and Scotland, curated by Dr Juliette MacDonald and Arno Verhoeven, Edinburgh College of Art, in collaboration with Denis Longchamps, Art Gallery of Burlington; Professor Sandra Alfoldy, NSCAD University; and Emma Quin, CEO, Craft Ontario.
The symposium aims to illustrate some of the many opportunities available to artists and craftspeople to expose, promote and sell their work, as well as how connections and dialogue with organisations and makers can be initiated and established on an international level.
The event has been generously supported by Craft Town Scotland, with funding from Creative Scotland. Entrance is free but there will be a modest charge of £8.00 per head for a buffet lunch and refreshments, payable at the door.
Public transport: two trains run per hour from Glasgow Central to West Kilbride
