Craft Town Scotland is inviting applications from UK based craft practitioners who wish to undertake a residency linked to the Crafts Council’s touring exhibition ‘Lab Craft: digital adventures in contemporary craft’, which will open at The Barony Centre, Craft Town Scotland, West Kilbride on the 1st of June.
The overarching aim of the residency is to tailor a Youth and Cross-Generational project to the exhibition whilst relating it to the culture of the local area. The residency content should include elements geared towards encouraging the participation of several of our target groups, specifically primary and secondary students and residents 55+years.
We are looking for a dynamic, inspiring and self-motivated person with a proven track record of delivering innovative and thought-provoking work across a wide range of ages and abilities. You will be an established practitioner within your own discipline. It is recognised that such a person will have exhibited widely in a variety of galleries and museums.
We appreciate this is a fast turnaround – closing date for applications is Wednesday 23rd May with shortlisted practitioners called for interview on Monday 28th May.
